I just used this text in a course entitled Web Site Management. The text is only skin deep; it is an overview only. I did not learn much about the new concepts from the books; I ha to do a lot of outside research of my own. It seems that the author just starts to get into a topic and the section or chapter ends, leaving me to wonder "what next?". For example, Java Server Pages, a powerful web technology, is given a single paragraph with no examples. The legal references are partly from British law, which does me no good in the US. I have already written my educational institution recommending they not use this text.
