(More customer reviews)This is not a bad text; it simply overviews many on the main themes in contemporary globalization studies. It examines; production, security and insecurity, governance and knowledge.
However anyone looking for something comprehensive should probably look elsewhere and note that this is very light on social theory and heavy on your typical `globalization began in 1987' tagline. It could easily to retitled as introduction to global processes, but it a place to start nonetheless.

This is a systematically revised and updated new edition of a highly-acclaimed text which was an immediate bestseller on courses around the world. The second edition takes a broader perspective giving increased coverage of other dimensions of globalization alongside its core focus on the rise of supraterritoriality which the author argues is globalization's most distinctive feature.
