(More customer reviews)This book covers the most common social media web tools out there in a very direct and user friendly way. Not only do you get some brief historical perspective on these tools, it totally demystifies them with concise step by step lessons. The book takes us through one small businesswoman's journey into the social media world, witht he goal of growing her brand image and her network. The ease of the lessons clearly demonstrate that you do not have to be a web guru or programmer to make very effective use of tools like Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, FlickR, etc. I already knew of many of these tools, but the book expanded my knowledge of them and more importantly, explained how they can be linked together to compliment each other as part of a total social media and networking strategy. I was seriously going to pay someone to create and manage this work, but now I know that 90+ percent of the upfront work I can do myself and just get feedback and advice from people regarding improvements over time.
Anyone that wants a quick but useful overview of the social networking sites out there should read this book. I definitely feel more comfortable with what all these buzzword sites are about and what makes them the same and different. I highly recommend this book.
