The Guide To Google Places: Get Your Local Business On The Map and Let Your Prospects Find You Review

(More customer reviews)The Internet is vast. In spite of "everybody" using it, the Internet is not always an easy place to advertise smaller, local businesses. Google answered the call to help smaller, local businesses get some attention but we sure never had the time to learn all the ins and outs. We once tried Google AdWords and spent more on clicks than we ever got out of it. (We aren't even sure if ANY of the clicks led to a sale.)
But Google Places changes all that. Now customers can and WILL find us from the Internet. We are anything BUT computer savvy. This book talks respectfully at our low level without talking down to us. In addition, we were shocked that a TRAINING VIDEO is included! A passcode is given early in the book to watch a video showing you exactly how to create your own Google Places and Map listing. That video is Outstanding and worth the price of the book by itself. WHY DON'T OTHER BOOKS DO THIS???
If you rely on Yellow Pages you are just tossing money to the wind. Leverage the power of the Internet, and especially Google, and how to do exactly that is right here. I liked the approach with the author showing us exactly how the playing field has been leveled. It's critical to be found online because that online presence can mean the difference between a customer walking through your door or your competitor's door. And if you think your business is different, EVERYbody thinks that. Your business will benefit from Google Places as much (perhaps more) than others. Plus, people aren't home at a desktop computer and more. They are out and about surfing the Internet constantly on smart phones. "Where do we eat lunch today?" "I don't know, let me see what's close by" (as she looks for a place to eat on her cell phone.
We learned EXACTLY what information we needed to know and supply to get the most hit from Google Places, we learned how to create an optimal Google Places listing, and we saw the costs and benefits of hiring out some or all of our work for others to do. (So far, the guidance in The Guide to Google Places was by far enough for me to manage our online presence myself. At least so far...)
Don't be the business today that advertises where people are NOT (yellow pages, signs outside, etc.) Make your business's ads come TO your potential customers - Google Places will help you do just that, and The Guide to Google Places shows you how. I am a busy person and I don't have time to write lots of reviews all the time (although I do enjoy writing reviews). I thought this book was important enough to tell others about.
