I apply these principles to competitive assessment, but they would apply equally well for entrepreneurs or venture capitalists. This book works well because these days discerning new trends, especially small ones, is not as straightforward as it might seem. In fact, the sheer number of emerging technologies has made discerning smaller but nevertheless significant technology trends something of a lost art.
